January 30, 2014 - I tend not to link to Jezebel as the tone of many of their pieces comes off as exploitative, angry, and hostile, but I found this article interesting discussing male privelege from a "gay" viewpoint. It also does a pretty good job describing why I've become increasingly more enthusiastic about the "queer" label versus other more rigid labels found within communities defining themselves in just LGBT terms.

Also it's worth mentioning a bill that passed the house that will probably get no further (with the White House even "threatening" to veto it. ugh, tone down your language maybe) trying to limit access to abortion by denying approval of health insurance that would cover abortion. This seemingly wants to make people pay for such procedures out of pocket with no consideration for what women are supposed to do when they can't afford that as an option or putting any thought to what could prevent women seeking such treatment to begin with.
