September 9, 2013 - Been watching football and I noticed that a certain webhosting service has completely changed their ad campaign, much like a soda brand that used to advertise it was "not for women" has changed its slogan. I'm still wary of these products and feel uncomfortable mentioning them by name as it may feel as if I'm endorsing them (though I still have a link discussing the web hosting provider in which it is mentioned by name (it's worth noting the brand redesign is described as "still fun" and "still entertaining" as if it still seemingly doesn't quite understand how its old ads were perceived by some)). In general they probably have a long way to prove they care about respecting potential customers rather than simply just not alienating them, but it's certainly a step in the right direction. Maybe some day a brand of soap that advertises it's for "real women" but happens to be owned by a parent company that markets a male deorderant brand with extremely misogynist ads will also change their marketing and I'll view the soap's ads with less sketicism.
