August 16, 2012 - Disclaimer: I struggled with trying to figure out a group Megan could say people want dead and couldn't really come up with one cuz, without going off on a tangent regarding my feelings towards capital punishment, I don't think anyone really deserves death. So instead I tried to figure out something that vaguely defines me (vaguely as in I don't think I'm that snobby, though the rest...), for although I don't really want anyone killing me, I don't mind making jokes about it. Hopefully it works and this comic doesn't offend too many people.

Also despite not being in an abusive relationship herself, Megan indirectly points out some of the dangers of twenty-four hour waiting periods by showing it could lead to abusive interference from partners who become aware of the situation during that twenty-four hour period. Overall I have mixed feelings on the process as though I understand the intent I also simultaneously see problems with the policy (for example, I doubt most women entering an abortion clinic wouldn't have thought through the specifics beforehand, but also think it's possible there is information that they wouldn't have access to before entering the clinic that could impact their decision). In fact, I find the largest problem with this policy to be one not directly alluded to here involving situations where the potential patient traveled a great distance for the procedure and would thus need to find lodging and food for an additional twenty-four hour period at her expense (though this all would likely still be cheaper than carrying a pregnancy full term).

Anyway, I don't want to ramble too much in my blogs, and I'm sure all of this will likely be revisited in the future. In the meantime feel free to search the internet for more comprehensive debates and discussion of this issue as I unfortunately don't have any links today.
