April 27, 2012 - I'm not sure how well abstract backgrounds really work for this comic. On the one hand, this comic strives for reality and abstraction kinda breaks that reality. On the other hand, they're way easier to draw than realistic backgrounds.

In theory abstract backgrounds have a more emotional feel to them, which was another issue I had with this comic as I wasn't sure if having Jennifer breakdown made her appear weak or unlikeable as a character. Then I said fuck that. Having emotions isn't a sign of weakness. If Jen wants to cry, she's fucking crying, and that applies for everyone who feels sad or overwhelmed. And so goes the story of panel 4.
