November 26, 2013 - Patience's facial expressions in this comic are among some of my favorite things that I've drawn. A lot of people seemed concerned about whether Patience and Philip are practicing safe sex, so hopefully it's much more obvious here (though maybe segues to a discussion about condoms' "inconvenience" in terms of creating a delay before coitus that can "ruin" the mood).

Speaking of birth control. Research is now showing that many emergency contraception pills (Plan B One-Step, Next Choice One Dose, and My Way are all named in the article which also indicates this applies for other brands as well) do not work when taken by women over 176lbs. (and has decreased effectiveness with women over 165lbs.). The good thing is that now that we're aware of this problem, hopefully someone can remedy it. In the interim it's important to use other forms of birth control instead of only relying on emergency contraception, preferrably methods that also protect against STDs in many instances.
