August 27, 2013 - Apologies but I am exhausted so here's linework and lettering for tomorrow's comic an hour early as I go to bed with the intention of finishing this when I wake up.

Ugh, I really want to write a blog about Ellie yesterday and Patience today and their role as female characters with the complicated standards audiences place on female characters in terms of likeability and accurate representation but I'm not sure I'm awake enough to do so at the moment. Instead here are a couple links discussing the same idea much more coherently than I can probably manage at the moment which might be interesting to compare back to Ellie who intentionally embraces a lot of feminine stereotypes with questionable success and fulfillment from her quest to do so and Patience who actively tries to reject many of these stereotypes with a roughly similar number of accomplishments and problems (though not necessarily the same accomplishments and problems or to the same extent). I'd love to get into more of the complexity of this, but like I said, I'm far too tired now. This topic will likely be revisited in a future blog.

Also here's the latest column from Emily.
