May 27, 2013 - Ugh, I'm super stressed about something related to my writing yet completely unrelated to the comic or its themes which I'll probably discuss Friday, so composing a coherent blog's gonna be kind of an issue for most of the week if not longer. That said, I do want to mention a few updates on other news stories that I've mentioned before. Kate Hunt's rejected her plea deal. The Angelina Jolie test used to determine she has the BRCA1 mutation and the gene itself are patented by one company potentially inflating the cost by eliminating competition. And USC and likely a whole bunch of other schools will likely be facing a Title IX discrimination suit based on their conduct regarding sexual assault allegations.

Also there's been a fair amount of press regarding sexual harassment and assault involving women in the military. I already have planned a storyline directly addressing the discrimination women in the military face in seeking abortion services, but obviously the gender discrimination in the military goes much further. I'll probably talk more at length about these issues when this story happens in a couple months, but with so much activity regarding this situation now, I figured I'd mention it in the blog if anyone was not aware and finds the topic interesting.
