April 22, 2013 - I have a lot to say about this comic, but I'm rather worried about spoilers so I'm going to wait until a few more comics show up.

Meanwhile in international news, I should mention this horrible story of yet another horrifying rape in India, made even worse by the police attempting to bribe the family of the victim to keep silent. Thankfully they did nothing of the sort, but it's still tragic the event even took place.

Also if you don't read the comments, here's a link to a story detailing a situation a woman is facing in El Salvador due to strict anti-abortion laws. When generating Vanessa's backstory I'd considered using El Salvador instead of Nicaragua specifically because both countries have such strict laws against abortion it creates very dangerous situations, including the one ongoing right now. Hopefully the attention this article generates may allow this woman to get care, but it doesn't help many of the other women in El Salvador (or Nicaragua or any country or part of a country where laws are hostile to abortion providers) seeking abortion services.
