December 24, 2012 - Hopefully the last panel isn't too hard to follow. I wrote this as four panels but couldn't figure out a way to include Ellie in panels 3 and 4 and it still working.

Overall Ellie puts up with a pretty unreasonable level of harrassment which unfortunately isn't too uncommon. Speaking up for herself is a great first step but it'd be nice if she had more support. I really don't have much of a solution beyond trying to draw attention to controversial situations when I'm aware of them. And the joke's supposed to be at the expense of how unreasonable the harrassers are rather than belittle Ellie, though maybe I'm not as successful as I'd like.

Meanwhile, even though it's Christmas Eve, it's not like these situations go away. In Iowa the state supreme court just unanimously ruled that it's perfectly legal to fire someone for having sexual attraction to someone you employ and India's currently in a fervor over its policies regarding rape.

I'm sure I could find other things to point out, but tomorrow's Christmas. And I'll have another comic then too.
