October 8, 2012 - So my fundraising campaign is officially unsuccessful. If you were among the few that donated you should get your money refunded, but let me know if you have problems. Honestly, I'm somewhat relieved it didn't succeed as I was very worried about the accuracy of my estimates (i tried to inflate it a lot to protect myself and also decrease its chances of success to a certain extent), and it would have been a lot of work that I now don't need to do. Mostly I just wanted to be able to say I did attempt the campaign Star suggests in the
September 6th comic, regardless of the outcome, and hopefully raise awareness with the content of the campaign page. At the very least I did accomplish part of that goal.
I'm not sure if I'll remove all references to the campaign from the archive excluding the original comic and this one itself. I may just leave it. At some point I'll also post the bonus comic I did not the campaign and the letter on this site, but they're available on the
indiegogo page as long as its up and I still have them on my computer.
I also noticed I had a few bids on my top banner despite raising its minimum to what I felt was a somewhat unreasonable level, as a result I've imposed new minimums to maybe maximize profits at a level I hadn't considered. But just generally trying to figure out how advertising works a bit more.
Meanwhile I think it's previously been
established that Star likes to find excuses for celebratory dances, even when they don't make the most sense.
