August 29, 2012 - I don't have any links today! Which actually isn't something to get excited about. The Republican Party has basically stated their belief of making abortion illegal a core principle of their party's platform (which has been obvious for a while and part of why I don't have a link, the rest being related to the fact that it's difficult to find a source posting this information that doesn't also list their positions on other key issues). In general I do not want to advocate against the Republican Party's candidates indiscriminately. Though I've been somewhat critical of some party members, I'd like to believe each politician is an individual capable of making their own choices on these issues and can therefore go against his or her party to some degree in some circumstances. Also, although I may not be able to think of an example of a Republican idea that I particularly agree with off the top of my head, I don't believe Republicans are wrong on every issue. There's got to be some good in there somewhere, and perhaps their viewpoints on said issue I can't think of are more important than their views on women's health to someone (though as I try to illustrate with this comic all these issues are inter-twined and my belief is that a so-called "liberal" stance on abortion is better for the economy and many other issues). I think it's best to examine each candidate in depth before leaping to a conclusion based on party lines. And I strongly urge that everyone registered to vote make their decision on his or her (hopefully informed) opinion. Every vote does count, so make your voice heard.

All that out of the way, I was really happy with how the reflection came out in the first panel of this comic. All of what I just said about voting applies doubly to Jennifer making her own decision about how to handle her pregnancy. Yes, she is choosing to keep it.

...though there's still time she could potentially change her mind. *failed attempt at sinister laughter followed by coughing fit*

Speaking of coughing fits, I've been sick for like a week now, time to go lie down.
