November 19, 2012 - Last Friday, io9 reported a new study examining the effects of what happens when women are denied abortions with fairly significant impact on their use of social welfare programs and the likelihood to to remain in abusive relationships and experience complications to their physical health, but no impact on long term emotional or mental health. All of this ties nicely to a larger discussion on the effects denying an abortion presents to a woman's overall well-being. When faced with an unplanned pregnancy, there's never an easy answer. Sometimes a pregnancy does occur with no complications, physically or financially, but there's no guarantee and any statistical information indicates that problems certainly occur. | |||
